Union jitney drivers gained a one week delay as the Beattie city council postponed action on the injunction case. The dispute centers on enforcing an ordinance banning jitney drivers from operating their own cars in the city. Union leaders threaten to take the case to the Supreme Court if defeated.

Aaron McSparen a notorious road house habitue and two women companions are held on house charge by federal prohibition officers. The arrest followed a raid Wednesday night at the Alexander hotel. F B Barry proprietor of the Barry Paint Co 1521 Fifth Ave was arrested by federal prohibition officers on liquor possession charges. Police and federal agents seized 76 quarts of James Pepper whisky from the Barry Paint Co warehouse at 116 Blanchard St hidden under canvas camping supplies. A small quantity of liquor was found at Barry's store during Thursday morning searches. Prohibition Director Roy C Lyle said the seizure is unrelated to last week’s liquor robbery at Elliott Ave and Wall St where $35000 in liquor was stolen.
Ed Hagen a former Beattie policeman serving a sentence at McNeil Island Federal Prison for robbing a liquor warehouse was denied parole after a pending Seattle liquor charge. Hagen plans to appeal and reapply in January. The parole board included Warden Thomas Maloney and others. Local Beattie officials and supporters urged release citing reform.
K Imoto a 29 year old Japanese laborer allegedly threatened to kill a police officer during a struggle for a revolver in a Milwaukee hotel. Sergt. William F Donlan subdued him after a hand to hand fight Thursday morning. Imoto could not explain his activities. police may turn him over to immigration for deportation. He was said to be drunk and causing a disturbance when the revolver was drawn.
814 Hines and James Ewan are held on liquor charges in city jail Thursday. One man was arrested Wednesday at a soft drink parlor at 1930 Seventh Ave by police and federal officers.
