Word from Sacramento Friday states Billy Martin alias Buddy Martin and Jimmie Ryan, alleged accomplices of Ed Patton and Louis Lazarus, who robbed Seattle bank messenger C Land Higbee of $25,000 July 14, were captured in Sacramento Thursday night. They traveled under the names James Redmond and William Ryan. Extradition papers for return to Seattle will be issued immediately by Prosecuting Attorney Malcolm Douglas.
Ralph Northern, 16, left home at 2 p.m. Thursday to buy an army khaki shirt for school and has not been seen since. He carried $14, lives at 2948 Farfarst, stood 5'7" with gray eyes, once worked as a newsboy for The Star, and police are aiding the search.
In Albany New York September 2 1930 Baby Gloria Odell must stay at Auburn prison with her mother for another year though she cannot understand the tragedy. Children born in prison are removed at age two and placed elsewhere. Her mother’s 20 year murder sentence and the father James Odell’s electric chair death on April 28 underscore the grim family tragedy.
Paul Staudte, former Northern State Hospital cook at Sedro-Woolley, was fired for insubordination after he refused to cook rotten food for patients. He alleged minimal meat, scarce sugar, and widespread mould and weevils in rations, then dumped the tainted provisions to hogs and sought fresh supplies. Samples were sent to authorities and Gov. The message lists missing lifeboat with second and third mates Cadet Sissons and six sailors and firemen. Algerine and Canadian Winner expected about 9 a m.
An 18 year old, Carl Dauberg of Cupertino, was instantly killed when a bolt struck him in an orchard near his home in Ban Jose. The incident happened during an unusual electrical storm with the season’s first rain. precipitation was slight and the storm affected the area.
King county judges' budget for 1922 requests four thousand dollars for visiting judges. In 1921 an appropriation of twelve hundred dollars covered this purpose.
