In Georgetown 13 year old Raymond Maxwell and brother Georgie suffer taunts over bald heads and illness. Georgie misses school to escape mockery but Judge Frater orders attendance. Mother vows rebellion until hair regrows, ministers pledge support, as legal duty clashes with maternal care.
A long disjointed account describes the arrest, release, and ongoing presence of a man named Schultz deemed a danger to youth. Police claim no warrant exists, while officials threaten action if he returns. Prosecutors consider state charges for vagancy.
Bellingham dispatch notes Milwaukee line expansion toward the coast. Austin Minn attorney says Chicago Milwaukee St Paul will extend to enter Bellingham and Seattle, with possible traffic pacts via Seattle Spokane or new routes along the Columbia from Walla Walla area.

Two carloads of wiring for the municipal light system are missing between the city and the end. The Great Northern railroad is blamed for the loss and delay, as the material is urgently needed to extend electricity to residents awaiting municipal power service.
Nick Long a 26 year old bartender died of consumption at his father's residence 215 Twenty sixth street on Wednesday evening after recently returning from a trip to Arizona. He was born, raised and employed locally.
The steamer Prospector left Dawson Friday morning with 20 passengers and a mail consignment for the Interior. Ice was soft with shallow water and sandbars posing the main hazard, but passage to White Horse was expected to succeed. Passengers included Yukon customs collector Busby and merchants Stan ley Scearce and J K Lilly.
Bremerton dispatch reports the cruiser Chicago leaving the navy yard at 11 30 for Tacoma for several days then Seattle and other straits stops on the way to Portland. The cruise will test wireless telegraph stations along the sound.
The steamer Rainier of L H Gray & Co is set to depart Seattle on Sunday bound for San Francisco carrying a full passenger list and general freight. A Burnside cable ship report notes a lighted buoy near Juan de Fuca Strait with Carmanah light to the north west by west and Tatoosh Point to the southwest by west, advising shipmasters to pass the buoy at a wide berth.
Next Monday and Tuesday the Pacific Coast Advertisers Association will hold its annual meeting at the Hotel Washington. The first session opens with a banquet and advertising men from the coast and eastern states are expected to attend with prominent business leaders delivering addresses.

Spokane attorney James Hopkine was convicted by a jury on seven counts for certifying as notary public to pension certificates without appearing before him. The maximum penalty is five years imprisonment and a $500 fine.
In Vallejo California October 11 the defense closed in the Young court martial with Commander Young on the stand all morning. A letter from Rear Admiral Goodrich dated October 6 1904 was read stating his opinion and ordering the ship to San Francisco. The Bennington then sailed on a 20000 mile cruise and later orders sent her to Mare Island for repairs with a May 12 deadline. The evidence appears to point toward Young's acquittal.
In Vancouver, police recovered about one thousand dollars worth of diamonds stolen from Redfens Jewelers in Victoria. C. C. Kurtz, a marine engineer, confesses involvement with a woman he has been living with in connection to the case.
Football results list shows Cornell 30 over Western Pennsylvania 6 and Navy 18 over North Carolina 0 at halftime, with several other scored matchups. Jessie Preston obtained a divorce from Vernon Preston in Judge Yakey's court, restoring her maiden name Jessie Butler, on grounds of desertion.
In Redfield Kansas thirty six people were injured and one killed when a Missouri Pacific train was derailed by a broken rail. Five coaches left the tracks in the morning wreck.
Wi Bteel, King County commissioner, says Beattie may have about 500000 residents based on badge interest. About 26000 Beattie residents registered at the booth but demand was far higher morning to night. Seattle badges featuring the Siwash chief were most popular. The county spent roughly 9000 on exhibitions with 4000 used, leaving a small balance. Eddie Baker returns from the fair with news of a wife and plans for a honeymoon cottage.
Police remain puzzled by the disappearance of Taka Hirishima, a Japanese girl last seen in the restricted district where she worked by day. No clues explain her absence as investigators suspect involvement by a procurers ring, with one suspect jailed recently.
Captain Houghkirk of the steamer Iralda leaped from the hurricane deck into the Columbia River to save Mrs. Clifford Harrie and her seven year old son after their skiff capsized. The rescue occurred in Portland Oregon on October 21.

A Minnesota grand jury accuses Northwestern Life Insurance of graft and corruption. The insurer, with policies totaling about 4 million dollars, allegedly offered 1000 dollars to both Republican and Democratic state central committees to cover campaign expenses for appointing the next Minnesota insurance commissioner. State Labor Commissioner W H Williams cites that someone from the company offered "blood" money to the state commissioners.
William Underwood aged 75 collapsed from heart trouble while playing chess with E W Carlson at the Pioneer lodging hour on Fifth Street. Carlson aided the dying man, Dr. Owens failed to save him, and Underwood died about 1 00 AM. Deputy Coroner Arnold ordered removal to the Bonney Watson morgue. A son in Los Angeles is J F Underwood.
Saturday at 1 30 the Star office buzzed with a throng of newsboys who crowded in line for a Nini show at the Star Theater. They marched in 200 strong and filled the house with boyish applause and banners praising The Seattle Star and its theater.
Washington dispatch reports that railroads and David H. Parry of the National Manufacturers association plan to pressure the Chicago convention on October 28 to back Roosevelt rate legislation. Free rail transportation may be offered to delegates, with a second convention possible if the first fails to gain support.
Dr. Alfred N. Marion aged 65 of 1818 Warren died Friday afternoon in his home. He had suffered Bright’s disease for over a year and an acute asthma attack caused his death. He leaves a widow and eight children including Mrs. Lawrence Hodges Portland Ore and doctors A V Marion Hatton and Armand Marion Seattle. Funeral arrangements not yet made.
Ta coma detective D O Smith will take John Walker back to the City of Destiny where the prisoner who attempted to burn his way out of the city jail will be prosecuted on current charges.
Tacoma police report a man stole a watch from Captain Ross's room in Tacoma. He is held on a disorderly conduct charge and was arrested by Patrolmen Cameron, Stetson and Westedt. Rumors link Walker to prior records and possible involvement in a Butte murder.
