Corbin files in superior court alleging Oriental Trading Co and partners Teukuno Takahashi and Yamaska employed him to furnish Japanese labor at Le Grand. He says he was to be paid 10 cents per day for each laborer during transportation and that payments were misrouted to Oregon Sugar Co.
A young man visited the county auditor to obtain a marriage license and was surprised by a $2 fee. He could only produce two wheels from his bets and left to earn more. He returned at noon with enough dollars to pay the fee.
Dan and Wille Quinn, two young boys, were arrested by Officer Ribback for carrying a 12 gauge revolver in a Third Avenue theater. Police say the pair had a grudge against manager Russell after past trouble, and warned that Russell might be hurt. They spent the night in custody and will face Judge George.
Marquis Ito Japan's eminent statesman was hosted at the Mainier-Grand hotel by about 65 Seattle business leaders and notables. Judge Burke presided as Ito spoke through his secretary, praising the friendship and trade between the United States and Japan.
