A two story Burton residence occupied by Louis Lofgren and family was dynamited at 12 30 am injuring the father and two children. The mother and four other children escaped as the house collapsed burying the others. Tacoma police believe an outside party placed the dynamite and look for motives while deputies investigate. The Lofgrens longtime residents of a nearby dairy farm faced no known enemies.
Mayor H C Gill urged voters to approve transferring bond funds to the port commission to build a belt line linking port properties from Salmon Bay to the Duwamish waterway. He said railroads must unite on a common-user basis or the port will build the line itself to speed port commerce.
