Navy tour by Assistant Secretary Darling at Puget Sound yard
The government tug Pawtucket carried Assistant Secretary Charles Darling and a delegation including Admiral Barclay and Congressman Mumphreys for an inspection tour of the Puget Sound navy yard at Bremerton. They examined the dry dock and repair facilities and awaited Darling’s report on extensions and improvements. The party planned to return to Seattle, with Darling and his wife soon leaving for Portland and San Francisco.
