Susie Walton and Lee Meiner moved from prior marriages to wed yesterday after both had been divorced earlier in 1904. Court records show Walton divorced Susie for cruelty in February 1904 and Meiner divorced Sadie for quick temper in February 1904. Friends say the four formerly involved formed a four party social circle and rumors of romance followed, before Detective Barbee exposed the remarriage.

Olympia Hotel Destroyed in Fire During Legislative Visit

The Olympia hotel burned to the ground last night after a fast spreading blaze fueled by wind. Gov. McLride helped fight the flames as business leaders plan to relocate or remodel facilities to house visiting lawmakers. The four story, 110 room hotel, valued over 100000, was largely financed by local capital and later by Boston capital, with about 16000 in insurance.

Tragic death near Hinckley place at Lake Union

The body of 74 year old Mrs Jane Teater was found in Lake Union at 8 20 am beneath the war trestle two blocks from Hinckley's place by Pete Sweetman a car motorman. She likely walked to the lake from home and fell or chose suicide. She had been ill two months. She leaves three daughters and one son Harry. residence 333 Taylor street with Charlies KR Lynch. London dispatch reports from Rome that St Petersburg telegrams say the czar will order the surrender of Port Arthur. Joe Green charged with mayhem misses court. bond forfeited and arrest warrant issued. Green allegedly bit off the left ear of Ed Maroney on August 24.

Dog Eaters From Philippine Islands Visit City Exhibit

About 76 tribesmen from the Philippines arrived in St Louis to board the Tremont and impressed crowds at the wharf with their exhibit. An information in superior court charges Freeman Collier with bigamy for marriages to Edih Trafton on March 4 1904 and Florence Blair on January 20 1900. Collier, a Seattle figure, now resides in Skagit county and the case is brought at Skagit county prosecutors request. the prosecution was started by his last wife. Everett Washington November 17 1910. Jon Marten attempted suicide after his wife refused to walk home with him. New Orleans mint shut down temporarily due to bullion shortage.
