Woman leaps from window to escape landlord attack

May Evens jumped from a window of her room at the Greenleaf on Western avenue near Pike street after an argument with landlady Mrs. Williams. Oregon Officers Freed After Second Hearing

The steamship Oregon officers Captain Charles Warner first mate Edward Healy and second mate Charlee Guntart were discharged at a second hearing before US Commissioner Kiefer. Seaman John Low alleged brutal treatment but the judge found Low intoxicated and the charges not sustained, dismissing the case.
