Based on noon returns J M Barnes national campaign manager estimates the Socialist national ticket at 800000 votes, up from 424000 four years earlier. He notes gains in Ohio and Chicago state attorney contest, with potential victory for J Siut in California and gains in several state legislatures.
In the midst of electoral excitement the socialist party records about a doubled vote since four years prior, noting a roughly 100 percent increase while the democratic donkey enjoys strong momentum.
At 11:30 this morning the county auditor released the full official count of 22 precincts in Seattle and King County. The results list numerous races with votes for constitutional amendments, the national ticket, state offices, and county offices, including Taft and Wilson leading in the national ticket and various local officials with their vote totals.
Chairman Todd of the democrats projects Lister leading by 12 000 to 17 000 votes while Snyder of the progressives doubts a large margin and sees Hodge near even chances. Republicans concede Hay lost where strongest support existed.
Returns from a large district show Humphrey edging Landon and Heifner by under 400 votes with over 450 precincts counted. Humphrey leads by about 800 votes in these precincts while Landon carries Snohomish Whatcom and Ki counties, with progressives and Democrats optimistic about Landon’s victory.
In Tacoma Nov 6 complete returns from Puyallup Buckley and another precinct place Hodge within about 75 votes of Lister in Pierce county. Lister leads in city precincts while Hodge gains in country votes. Hay loses here and the progressive ticket appears to win the county, with 10 representatives and 3 senators. Dr N Johon Crooke wins the 37th district seat for the progressives.
