The men, who claimed bell boy roles, fit descriptions of recent robbers in the area. Innocent Japanese Laborer Shot in Tunnel Saloon
Yagoro Basaguchi, a Japanese laborer returning from Alaska, was shot in the left lung in the Tunnel saloon at 401 Main Street. The gunman, a negro, aimed at the bartender but was not identified.
