President Harding and his party landed at Annapolis Md this afternoon from the Mayflower and were not spotted by the crowds. They went to the Commandant Wilson residence for lunch then planned to attend the army navy baseball game. He spent travel time drafting his Lincoln speech to be delivered tomorrow.

RUSH ALMOUR MURDER TRIAL SET FOR JUNE TERM

May E Stevenson a 30 year old Waukee man without bail faces first degree murder charges in the killing of A A Armour Seat salesman. Prosecutors expect to bring the case to trial at the June term in Superior Court with Stevenson to be arraigned Wednesday. Sheriff West says motive remains unsettled but not robbery. He cites a link showing Stevenson and Armour together in Liberty in East Stanwood on March 7 the day Armour disappeared. A coroner’s jury ruled Armour died from blunt instrument wounds inflicted by an unknown person.

Soldier Shot During Discharge Party Leaves Four Held

Police hold four people after a touchat soldier is shot in the head during a discharge party at 1918 Minor Ave. Mrs Bertha Darragh 27 claims she held the pistol and ordered the shooting. The alleged sequence says John Me invited guests and Touchatt fired a snap cap, then was shot when a bullet grazed his skull. Touchatt remained in critical condition at the city hospital.
