Legless Neil Nearing Hope With Wooden Legs Trial
Neil Rowley, legless since a 1913 train accident, will soon walk on wooden legs. A benefi t dance and Star appeal drew hundreds to fund the limbs. His father, deputy sheriff, was killed by bandit Harry Tracy seven years ago, and Neil has lived at the Children’s Home since being run down by a train three years later. He is a bright student and leads his class at school.
