Roosevelt Dam Complete Next Month to Irrigate 6,000 Farms
A long projected irrigation project in the Salt River Valley will be completed by June with the Roosevelt Dam producing power and water for 6,000 farms. The structure will create the largest artificial body of water, capable of irrigating 240,000 acres per season, powering mills and homes, and aiding 10,000 acres upstream for irrigation. The project aims to benefit Pimas and Maricopas while promising repayment through agricultural prosperity, with a formal opening in autumn and potential ceremony by Col. Roosevelt on his birthday.
