San Francisco reports the state railroad commission finding former United Railways president Patrick Calhoun looted more than $1 million for private ventures. Directors allegedly authorized diversions, including $1,096,000 to the Solano Irrigated Project in 1913. Jesse Lilienthal forced a $1,996,000 promissory note to the company.
Patrick Calhoun, former president of the United Railways of San Francisco, arrives in Cleveland and refutes a California A. A. commission statement alleging he appropriated railroad funds. He calls the charge absolutely untrue.
