Natchez Mississippi and Texas report widespread flood danger from a Bayou de Glaises breach and Brazos river under water. Homes lost, acres flooded, and residents flee as levees fail and rivers surge through California and Louisiana valleys.
The Ozmo bound from San Francisco to Pacific Northwest ports hit a reef off Cape Blanco Oregon during foggy night. Crewmembers of 20 abandoned ship in a small boat while Willamette a rescue ship sought the scene. Conditions were unclear with reports of abandonment and ongoing rescue efforts at dawn.
Warm weather at river headwaters has created a flood menace for Portland and other lower river towns. The Willamette rose a foot and the Columbia was rising. The Snake and Wenatchee rivers are pouring torrential floods from the snowfields.
The Al G. Barnes circus parade will depart the grounds at Fourth and Republican at 10 30 a m on Thursday and proceed via Fifth Dennyway Fourth Bell Second Yesler Third and back to Fifth before returning to Fourth and Republican. Two performances per day on Thursday Friday and Saturday at 2 and 8 p m.
