The U S Supreme Court declares a congressional tax aimed at eliminating child labor and its products illegal in an appeal from a North Carolina court ruling. The decision marks the second congressional effort to curb child labor as unconstitutional.

Portland experienced a rapid sequence of shocks from 9 27 to 9 31 AM with as many as four distinct tremors felt citywide. The 2128 Fourth Ave. N. man had been accused in the Nov 29 1921 death of Louise Yackel, 14, who was alighting from a street car at 29th Ave and E Madison. This marks a second instance in King County where charges were dismissed on health grounds.
