George FE. Graham proprietor of Sharmont Cottage fishing resort on Lake Sammamish drowned when his boat capsized at 10 a.m. Wednesday. He was pulling anchor when the craft overturned and his body was recovered half an hour later. Dr. George F. Davis of Kirkland tried to revive him. Graham, 41, was married.
San Francisco friends of Miss Winifred Hudnut of New York reported her engagement to Rodolph Valentino, film actor. Miss Hudnut, known professionally as Natacha Rambova, is art director for Mme Nazimo va, and her father is a New York perfumer.
Mrs Edith Miller Busby wife of a Philadelphia company executive and her three daughters Constance 11 Edwina 9 and Mary 6 were found dead at a Ventnor New Jersey home from illuminating gas poisoning Police found notes suggesting Mrs Busby planned the deaths and she had separated from her husband.
In Pueblo Colorado on May 10 Mia Elliott age 29 and her three children June eight Arley six and Jessie one died from burns in Rocky Ford hospital after a five gallon oil can exploded while Elliott tried to light a stove in a one room home near Brush Springs yesterday.
Anne Stillman, daughter of James A. Stillman, arrived in New York aboard the Olympic amid her parents divorce case at Poughkeepsie. She said she remains neutral, plans to split time between her father and mother while on vacation.
Chang Tao Lin, a Manchurian warlord, is removed from government posts and all titles abolished by President Heu Shin Chang. Lieut Rivas Muntz, Chilean legation attache, tried veronal overdose after discovering her love note for Billy Errazuriz. Errazuriz killed himself ten days earlier after Peggy’s jilting. An American officer also reportedly died over Peggy. Paris buzzes over the seductive siren of the century.
In New York Cornelius Vanderbilt Jr rushes to a police station after two suspicious packages were tossed into his car. Police quote the phrase soiled linen as part of the incident.
Louis Joseph Vance's Action! will be printed in The Star starting next Monday. S. B. H. Hurst of Seattle, author of Coomer Aii, will have The Color of Her Soul published by The Star beginning next Friday.
William Neal Winter, president of Puget Sound Telephone Co. of Everett, appeals for public support of the telechronometer a device to measure telephone conversations. He says it will reduce overhead and lower bills for patrons while ensuring fair use, and he criticizes financiers and large telephone companies for opposing it.
Everett residents mobilize against the Puget Sound Telephone Company as a June 6 hearing challenges telechronometers installed on local phones. City officials argue the device adds nothing and increases bills, while opponents claim it turns a social utility into a time-selling service.

A midnight fire in the Arcade block at the city center, Victoria B C, caused more than 300000 in losses. The blaze spread through the ground floor and up 40 feet, posing a furnace-like danger until firemen contained it. The site had seen a previous million-dollar fire nearly two decades ago.
Genoa May 10 Foreign minister Schanzer of Italy prevented a breakdown by stopping an unacceptable Russian note from being delivered. He persuaded Thhitcherin to retain the note and consider changes before presentation.
