Work Begins on New Interurban Road in Ballard
The Avtaat work on the Seattle Ballard electric railway started at the Pal terminus yesterday with a large crew preparing for track laying. The three mile Ballard section will be built over the next six months with full speed, and the total Everett line will run about four miles. Fred B. Sander, the promoter, expects no delays and aims to open the line to traffic within 18 months at a cost exceeding one million dollars. The route covers First Avenue Ballard through Thallman Street to Main, then north to the city limit and northeast toward Riverett. A German liner Kurfürst is ashore north of Sagres near Lisbon.
