Montegano March 23 The bodies of Officers McKenzie and Elmer, believed killed by John Turnow, were recovered today from a shallow T shaped grave 30 miles northeast. The posse continues the hunt as Turnow remains at large. Empy warns he may shoot on sight.
In Tacoma Washington on March 23 Bob Hodge progressive candidate for governor conducts a hand to hand campaign. He visits stores mills factories and homes to deliver plain talk and campaign cards. Residents respond with support and friendliness to his plain man approach.
Got Match and Bill R Kushna was on his way home at 603 Jackson street when a stranger asked for a match. The Japanese man kindly supplied a second match after the first went out and the stranger fled with the only ten dollar bill he had.

Washington March 23 Taft's reelection seems impossible roosevelt entry into the race solidifies anti Taft sentiment and the Aldrich Cannon stand pat Big Business faction cannot carry votes. The political question now is whether Taft or Roosevelt can win nomination given federal patronage and snap conventions versus public will.
In Lincoln Nebraska on March 3 William J Bryan stated he will support either Woodrow Wilson or Champ Clark. He said he would assist the nomination of a progressive Democrat and act according to Baltimore convention instructions or Nebraska primary results.
Coroner and deputy sheriff return from Black Buttes with the bodies of Mrs. Harriet Guyot of Portland and Miss Julia Francois of The Dalles. Suspect Frank Baurwaerts is held as charges loom. brother Nestor Francois says jealousy and passion drove the killings and notes opened letters implying premeditation.
