The disaster injured many laundry workers and killed at least eight bodies found by noon with more not yet identified. Fell In The Bay Rescue Of A Sea Worker
Late Saturday Julius Louger, a wood chopper employed by the Pacific Coast Coal Co., wandered along the water front and fell into the bay. He clung to a piling until a ladder was found and he was rescued by watchmen from nearby shops and wharves, but he was badly exhausted and soaked. He was taken to the police station after rescue.
