Several hundred Wagner Electric employees walked out in St Louis after four unionists were dismissed. A mass meeting last night reportedly drew more than 40 thousand to form a union. Wagner Electric Co employs about 5,000 workers and produces shrapnel for the Allies.
The armed mercantile cruiser Calgarian was sunk by torpedoes Friday off the Irish coast. Two officers and 56 men perished. More than three hundred survivors were landed Saturday at Larne. The 17 615 ton steel steamer built in 1915 at Glasgow was owned by Allan Steamship line and managed by Canadian Pacific Ocean Services Limited.
The British steamer Kenmare was subma rined off London March 6, the Admiralty announced. Six persons were saved, and no further details were provided on the incident or casualties.
Survivors of the submarine steamer Calgarian testified that 46 minutes passed between the first and second torpedoes. The second torpedo hit the engine room, killing most crew there while many lifeboats were destroyed. Rescue ships worked magnificently.

Sinn Fein volunteers have seized Kilimagh and guard exits while drilling, reported from London. The obscure town is unlisted on standard maps, possibly meant Killeagh, located about 15 miles east of Queenstown on the Cork to Youghal railway.
Mrs. L. H. Parker aged 58 sustained severe burns to the limbs and back when her clothing caught fire from an air tight heater at her daughter’s home 2029 Waverly Place. Neighbors quickly extinguished the flames but she remains in serious condition at the city hospital.
The United States declines to adopt an official plan with Britain and Japan regarding Siberia. Officials say intervention in Siberia is not necessary at this time and no joint action is planned.

Bradford as Anna Louise Strong is recalled from the school board. turnout exceeds 63,000, with the recall vote close to the mayoral total.
