Uniformity scheme proposed for Seattle mediums fails
A Seattle plan to form a trust among spiritualists and clairvoyants to set uniform sitting fees collapsed after objections from several mediums. The collapse came despite a stated aim to fix a one dollar per sitting rate and to test newcomers. The organizers say another attempt will be made on new lines.

In Colfax on June 29, the arrest of James Woodruff and Bert Hayden, Idaho youths who pled guilty to bringing stolen property into the state and received four years in the penitentiary and one year in the county jail, uncovers a long-running gang. Woodruff confessed to stealing seven yearling steers from John Anderson of Rocky Fork on the Palouse, later sold to Colfax butcher W L Schmidt for 62 dollars.
