Seattle police hold a man in connection with a trunk murder. His wife, Mrs B W Kersh, denies involvement but is reported to have admitted the name. The woman is described as the wife of a City Light Department employee. Their son reportedly called him “Papa.”
Suspected killer William A. Johnson found slain in a trunk at Union depot. Jesse P. Webb and Mrs. Johnson, widow, arrested after alighting from a car at Willamette rooming house. Johnson allegedly murdered in New Grand Central hotel room 119. Evidence includes bloodstains, two watches, and cash found on Mrs. Johnson.
A local union reports two men named Webb tied to a bogus raffle. J P Webb from Nome Alaska worked as a printer in Spokane since mid April. One Webb may have left with a woman claiming to be his wife, another Webb known as Jesse Pickering Webb is described as a painter and paper hanger.
