President Taft toured Villa Nova and Lincoln University today pausing at West Chester, home of Congressman Butler. He spoke briefly at both venues with Gov. Stuart, then returned to Washington tonight.
In Kirkland juror H Miller faced attack by 11 jurors after they acquitted Harry Rosenfield of a white slave owner charge. Miller supported conviction and kept the panel from arguing his vote, leading to a tense discharge and a near-scuffle outside the jury room.
Nathaniel Bledser, a Black Fort Lawton soldier, pled not guilty after a judge pressed him. The court ordered a not guilty plea entered and slated trial for September or October, with attorney Crawford White suggesting a venue change.
