A Pacific Coast counterfeit ring with headquarters between San Francisco and Beattie is suspected to have members near Beattie. Treasury detectives and Pinkerton agents were tracking leads, with Wilkie and others arriving from the East to pursue the case in Seattle and San Francisco.
