SEA STRIKERS LOSE IN COURT

The court denied dissolving the temporary restraining order against striking marine unions and set a 2 p.m. Tuesday hearing before Judge Jeremiah Neterer on the order to show cause for making the injunction permanent. The government argued the order was proper to protect shipping board vessels and property. The unions contended the order was improvidently issued and faulty under law. The judge ruled the shipping board is an arm of the government, equating acts against it with acts against military operations. A new crew was secured for the steamship City of Spokane after workers walked off on arrival Saturday. The Cordova left for the North, and the Admiral Dewey shifted to Tacoma to finish cargo and sail to San Diego.
