One thousand union teamsters were discharged in San Francisco for refusing to handle merchandise from a non union house. The action sparks a complete tie up of local drayage and freighting as the Employers' association presses a plan to break up unions.
In San Francisco a wholesale and retail trade stoppage threatens after a boycott of Morto Special Delivery Co, a non union firm, by the San Francisco tabe council. Draymen's association presses union men to haul for the new firm, forcing 150 teamsters to choose obedience or lose work. A sympathetic strike by porters packers and warehousemen along the shore is anticipated.
A complaint sworn in Justice George's court charges Joe Watkins proprietor of the Monterey concert hall with grand larceny. Witness W C Barry alleges a missing pocketbook containing 196 dollars after a night of drinking and socializing with companions at the Monterey venue.
