Gen W H Seamans adjutant general of California died in Washington after two weeks illness from inflammatory rheumatism and pneumonia. His wife and Lieut Commander Dougina White of the California naval militia were with him. He was in Washington to settle accounts between California and the government and to obtain a better ship for the naval militia. The body will be shipped to California for interment.
