Seattle Humane Society Aims to Expand Work and Camps
The Seattle Humane Society plans to extend its operations in the coming year with a Ballard affiliate and branches at Fremont Brooklyn and University Heights. The Ballard group shows progress with 348 complaints last year mostly about animal abuse while child cruelty cases have mostly been referred to other charities. A proposed camp officer plan would extend supervision to logging camps and Mrs. Laurence Gron the secretary notes generous need for more active members beyond a current roster of about 2. The city owes much to Mrs. Fiske the actress who helped last winter and the next meeting of the society is forthcoming.
