Bank Officials Indicted in County Grand Jury Actions

Bank officials face indictments as the Beattie county grand jury returns true bills against W. W. De Mieckent and others. City ordinance on saloon access and liquor licenses

No person or corporation may run a saloon in Beattie without a license. Provisions restrict entrances and booths to prevent direct street access into the main barroom. Violations incur fines up to 100 dollars, up to 90 days in jail, or both, with possible license revocation.

Congress Saloon Boxes Termed Violations By City Officials

Dunearn Arrives at Sitka After 212 Days From Cardiff

The overdue British bark Dunearn reached Sitka on February 19 after a 212 day voyage from Cardiff. Reinsured at 2 percent, she sailed into Sitka harbor without the Lynn canal liners Jeanna and Santa Ana knowing her arrival. Her cargo consisted of coal for Sitka and the master conveyed the news by small boat to Juneau then London.

Improvements Due for Seattle Electric James Street Station

The Seattle Electric Company new general manager Howard F. Grant has two weeks to present improvement plans for James Street transfer station. The Public Works Board will hear his proposals tomorrow at 10 o clock, with details to ease mud and rain for passengers and to avoid further city funds from the station.
