Railroads Submit Counter Proposal on Franchises

After a railroads conference, a counter proposal was submitted to the city addressing franchise rights for terminal access. Railroads demand overhead bridges only on Connecticut and Spokane avenues and one intermediate bridge, with the city responsible for all damages to adjacent property during and after construction. They seek maximum bridge widths of 42 feet on main spans and 32 feet for the intermediate, while city demands are wider. The proposal goes to the council's corporations committee for review.
