The women of Seattle mobilize to push Sunset telephone removals by August 1. A mass meeting and the Business and Professional Men's club rally aim to get households to switch, with 1800 removal notices already distributed and hundreds more en route, signaling a citywide shift.
Prosecuting Attorney Mackintosh accuses A Zeeve of buying stolen goods as a railroad and utility “tool pigeon” used by Seattle Electric and rail lines. Zeeve, tied to W M Pagan and Loggers Supply thefts, calls Jacob Furth Judge Burke and George Dana to testify for character.
Seely, a Seattle man, was arrested in Spokane on February 15 over a counterfeit ten dollar gold piece. Secret services suspect he is linked to the Webber gang. he has not provided a credible explanation of the source or route of the coin. He had recently drunk heavily, and police found only clothing in a satchel at the Fairmont where he stayed. Spokane officers hold Seely pending further evidence to confirm gang connections.
The Armory on Terry Ave and West Street hosts a smoker for National Guard company members and potential recruits. The event features a competitive drill, musical numbers, and offers incentives for bringing in new members. The unit is about 15 men short of strength and plans to recruit quickly before summer camp.

Identified with the Jennings gang three of whom are already in custody as a dangerous counterfeit gang. Hubert confined in Captain Hell’s offices undergoing a sweating process as the arrest was carried out quietly with two assistants.
The Longworths will arrive in New Orleans from Havana to attend Mardi Gras celebrations. Sigismund Aronson of Schwabacher Bros. will sail March 10 from New York with his wife and three children for a Mediterranean cruise on the Konigin Luise.
Fragmentary OCR notes claim a man informed others about a fraud scheme involving purchases and partial payments. It states items were stolen over several days with one or two taken at a time, and that Zeeve failed to pay full price at purchase.
Coronado Cal Feb 23 The South Pacific squadron under Rear Admiral Goodrich with flagship Chicago cruiser Boston torpedo boat Perry Princeton Paul Jones and Marblehead sailed this morning for Magdalena Bay for their annual target practice. While in harbor officers and men were greeted with enthusiastic social functions in their honor.
Charles Crane of 307 West Highland Drive reports a thief used a pass key to enter last night and stole a magic lantern a set of slides and a calen pair. This marks the second burglary at his home within two weeks.
Johann Hoch, the multi wife murderer, was hanged in Chicago shortly after 1 p.m. after appeals for a stay and habeas corpus were denied. He calmly prepared, ate dinner, and spoke of innocence before the trap. The drop occurred at 1:34 p.m., death by broken neck.

They were denied access to Orchard and barred from prisoner contact, while letters were censored and newspapers refused. Detectives seized a cipher used by the Western Federation of Miners. Attorneys filed petitions for writs of habeas corpus claiming constitutional rights violations and improper extradition from Colorado.

At Fort Lawton hut in the Ninth ward residents heard candidates discuss municipal ownership and the campaign. Edward Brady and George F. Cotterill spoke on history of public franchise corporations in Seattle since 1894 and noted delays by the council in municipal light. Cotterill claimed $70,000 per month was gained by the city in street lighting.
Chief Delaney of the police department, confined at his home on 5622 E Green Lake Boulevard for several weeks, cannot attend the Police ball tonight. He sends a message to the lads via Capt. Willard, apologizing but expressing support for the event at the Eagles hall and wishing success.
In Berkeley California an unnamed man killed himself at the town hall. A photo of a beautiful girl and a letter signed Edith were found in his gloves. A paper named F T Jameson Seattle Washington. A French note said he planned to die and asked his identity remain secret. He willed his body to UC Medical College.
Everett citizens have forwarded recommendations to the federal commission investigating the Valencia wreck. The proposals urge improvements to aids to navigation at the mouth of the straits, and were presented by Captain McFarland of Everett, mirroring the Chamber of Commerce plan.
In Olympia the supreme court heard a novel case involving Merchants Bank of Port Townsend and Superior Candy and Cracker Co of Bellingham. J W Blake, owner of the company, was suspected by his wife who uncovered 2300 dollars sent to the bank by Blake, with creditors seizing the funds shortly after.
The court ordered a candy company to refund money to a San Juan county resident’s bank after a dispute linked to a wife of another J. W. Blake. Sheriff Walter L. Sibley of San Joaquin County arrived from Stockton pursuing Frank Byma alias O Shea, a wanted bigamist. Rev J M Wilson will address Seattle young women at a Y W C A reaper service, and Mia C P Kilbourne will sing.
Captain T H Cann testified he was master of the City of Topeka when orders were issued to the Queen near the wreck of the Valencia but refused to name who bore direct responsibility. Captain Patterson admitted issuing the Queen's orders after consulting with J E Pharo, while J Segalos recounted the wreck and Captain Johnson was praised for steering the ship through ice.
About fifty delegates from across California gather in Fresno for a mass meeting of the Public Ownership party. Chas Fox of Bakersfield says the movement has no candidate and that Hearst or Schmidt are ineligible unless they break from other parties. Los Angeles delegation is led by Houghton who believes the party will grow.
Water will be shut off from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Pine Street from Third Avenue to Olive, including Sixth Avenue and Fourth Fifth Avenue from Pike to Olive. The disruption affects residents and businesses along these blocks.
In the Seventh ward the meeting will be held in the storeroom at Harvard avenue and Republican street. In the Eighth ward the storeroom at Queen Anneavy and Roy street hosts the event. In the Second ward Oltman's hall will host speakers. Prominent party candidates will be the speakers.
