A night break in at Robert jewelry store in Chehalis resulted in thieves securing watches brooches and rings. Entry came via a rear door with the dial broken to reach the safe. A box of valuable watches was found two blocks away as burglars divided the loot. The regular watchman was questioned and a substitute was on duty.
The investigation into Ross's office surfaced questions about timber sale practices. The timber on state land was not sold. only the timber was auctioned to the Phoenix Logging Co after being appraised low. One bidder appeared, and Senator Knickerbocker conceded he did not draw the case, with The Times reflecting on past coverage of the sale.

P G Baughman a prominent Alaska mining man based in Cordova for seven months is believed drowned or frozen to death. He left Cordova three weeks before the Pennsylvania sailed for Seattle to reach a small island 16 miles away where his mining rig lay. He did not return and local officers say he may have frozen to death or been swept to sea by ice floes near the shore.

Detectives Corbett and Ketchum arrested Ma Ging and Karl Chimer for selling cigarettes to a minor. They saved $50 bail for appearance in court tomorrow after the pair led officers to the Third and Union street restaurant where the cigarettes were purchased.
The body of Hally Oliver, killed in a Lovelock Nevada train wreck, arrived in Seattle and was taken in charge by Bonney Watson. Funeral services are set for 1 p.m. tomorrow at Lady of Our Good Help Church, with interment at Calvary Cemetery. He is survived by his mother Mrs Wilkes Gibney of 611 Yester way thrie city.
