William Albert Hamilton, 41, University of Washington maths associate, died by his own hand in the Sheldon hotel after a troubled marriage to Miss Lda Tarang. The couple wed New Year’s Eve, separated three days later, and Hamilton had suffered a nervous breakdown. He coached at Queen Anne High School and studied at Cornell and CCNY. Mrs Tarang Hamilton was not located.
A penniless widow visits The Star office with a month old baby in her arms pleading to give it away. She explains illness and hospital debts after a 1920 marriage and influenza left her destitute before the baby’s birth on January 10.
Prominent film producer Mack Sennett was questioned by District Attorney staff in the William D Taylor murder probe. Eight alleged extortionists were rounded up after attempting to blackmail a Los Angeles corporation president. a ninth suspect escaped. Federal and county officers led the operation with private investigators. The target was warned of death if the $20,000 ransom was not paid. The fake money was placed at a rear lot near Broadway and College Street before arrests.

Washington February 15 nine men were held on involuntary manslaughter charges in connection with the K bocker theater disaster of January 28. The coroner s jury found they were responsible for the 97 deaths and bail was set while the jury continues its work next week.
New York February 15 State Hughes sailed for Bermuda today on the liner Fort Hamilton for a vacation trip.
