Unclear report details Eageria’s fruitless search for the British warship Condor near B C. Four die from Cudulet incident as a royal mast truck wreck is found, rigging attached but not loaded. Ahouset salvage boat rescued items, a truck to Clayoquot sound was involved, and a flood delay persisted until midnight.
A large turn out at the charity ball in Armory hall raised a handsome sum for the Sisters' Academy. Seattle ladies directed the arrangements with Josiah Collins and Mrs Daniel leading the grand march. Mayor was introduced by Mr Col and spoke on the ball’s purpose as festoons and bunting decorated the hall. An rear service followed.
Margaret Smith, seen with the company at the Grand last season, travels to San Francisco and later performs in vaudeville. A clover has been written for her and production rolls out for the Orpheum opening in Los Angeles next week in March.
A $35,000 three story brick hotel is to be erected at Fourth avenue and way. The building permit was taken out this afternoon by McGulley. Rew hotel will be built with the latest fireproof plans and all modern improvements. Work will begin at once.
Ella Ostrander claims kin to the late Dr La Powell Reeves contests a will on grounds used by John B Reeves the stepson. The court hears arguments that a portion of the estate is separate property and that Mrs Reeves improperly disposed of assets. Ostrander contends the estate is valued at 916000 and alleges undue influence in the will’s execution.
Early hour break in at the Stone Fort where crackers robbed the site and escaped before detection. Authorities intensified surveillance and search for the suspects, with pursuit possible by wagon Wade if they left the area.
Coroner viewed the body near the house of the incident after Rev Hugh J Grant admitted to giving Nora Puller the dream found by her death. Relations previously denied, the coroner visited the scene on July 4 in Pranciaco.

Last night bullet wounds L. F. Boysen in the leg after he was shot at Interbay on Sunday during an attempted arrest. His wound is not dangerous but painful and he is in the county jail ward. Boysen and associate James Murphy face a preliminary hearing before Judge George on Thursday.
Hill in Chicago accelerates negotiations to acquire the San Pedro line to gain a third Pacific coast route. The railroad plans connect the San Pedro line with the Burlington route and Salt Lake line to tap Southern California traffic.
The Portland Chamber of Commerce adopted a resolution endorsing Chinese emigration. Merchants and clerks signed the resolution, implying that certain laborer classes favor open immigration gates.
A strong insurgent post believed to be General Malvar's headquarters was captured near Calamba in Laguna province. The Americana seized many Bolos and six typewriting machines.

Edward Ladd seeks habeas corpus with a 4 p.m. hearing in superior court on a charge of concealing stolen property by Chief Sullivan.
The chamber of commerce postpones the upcoming meeting due to a general holiday. The meeting will now be held Thursday at 3 20 p m.
Mr Albert Hambach sent a $60 check to the Chief Cook in recognition of the fire department's services at a building fire. The chief forwarded the donation to the department's relief fund.
Lauretta Nielaen, an inmate at The Little Paria House, reported a robbery at the resort on Fifth Avenue and Jackson Street early this morning. She said two men loitered near her room before she returned to find a gold watch missing. they fled down the stairs when confronted.
Portland reports a southeast gale sweeping the northern coast from Cape Flattery to San Francisco with a general storm reaching San Francisco and rain totaling a quarter inch at noon. Port Townsend notes a severe gale off Cape Flattery endangering many vessels though no wrecks yet reported.
The Beattie Labor Temple Association met last night and elected trustees B W Smith, Robert Penler, William Zahn, H B H Emme, Gilbert Hutchinson, J G Sheldon, and George Harrison. Future quorum will be five of eleven members. Another meeting is set for Friday evening at 140 Second Avenue.
Beattie saw the heaviest registration day as books opened and closed with 1376 names recorded. A 25 to 30 person line stretched most of the day as officials expected total registrants to reach about 14 000 by night. Clerks processed as many as 120 names per hour at peak.
Two women reported robberies in local concert halls last night. Mrs Albert Keesing said a ladies gold watch and chain were taken at Monterey theater, while Madeline Forrest claimed her red automobile coat vanished from Star theater. The alleged thief was described as a former Minneapolis city detective.

A three masted schooner burns from 6 PM to 5 AM seven miles off Cape May New Jersey. Lifesaving crews at Cape May Point Cold Spring and The Gut attempted rescue but found no sign of the crew by morning. Tug boats returning in the afternoon report no crew found and search abandoned as sailors are feared lost at sea.
At midnight the steamer La Conner dragged its anchor off West Beattie and struck a schooner, tearing a large gap in the bow. The La Conner, with one onboard, the second engineer, was uninjured and later tied to the Corwin. Damages were limited. the vessel had recent misfortunes including a prior grounding.

Dan and Dennis Courtemarle, born in Bay City Mich, met by chance near Seattle City Hall after two decades of wandering across the United States. Dennis, 64, had just visited Bay City while Dan, 38, had left home 21 years ago and settled in Seattle. The reunion was joyful as they exchanged family news and memories. Dan, a barber, is well known in Seattle.
At the university assembly yesterday Professor Kincaid lectured on Charles Darwin. He outlined Darwin’s life and the travels and studies that fitted him for his work on the Origin of Species. It’s the first in a series of biographical lectures by faculty members.
