Damages Paid in Pallard-Fort Lawton Crash Settlement

The widow and one month old child of H. B. Bimonton received a total settlement from Seattle Electric Company for all damages after the Pallard-Fort Lawton street collision. A $3,000 award to the widow and a $3.00 waiver for further claims were part of the deal, with funeral expenses covered and other injury claims in the range of $200 to $600 settled. The agreement settled the child's $5,000 suit and a similar claim by Mrs. Simonson, plus the company offered $5,000.

Milwaukee railway franchise approved with depot setback

Testimony Conflicts in Valencia Wreck Inquiry

United States Attorney Frye led hearings on the Valencia wreck with Captain Chris Nilsen of the tug Wyndda as the first witness. Nilsen said heavy winds prevented him from going beyond Cape Flattery and denied receiving wreck orders while attempting to land at Padena head. Passenger Frank J. Campbell reported the life preserver weighed 70 to 80 pounds and had to be cut away to reach safety. he also said there were no fire drills on the trip. A. W.
