Cablegram from Calcutta received by Dr. N. Krishna, Indian National Congress representative in America, reports more than 700 natives shot and 200 killed as British troops quell unrest. Hundreds of homes burned and 20,000 placed under arrest. Krishna notes a year long boycott of British goods and 21 million sworn members of the Indian government involved.
In Cairo on December 27 Madame Zaghlul wife of Said Zaghlul Pasha assumed leadership of the Egyptian nationalists after his deposition by British forces. She rallied forces for resistance as British troops faced a growing threat. Reports say Zaghlul may be banished to Ceylon and that non cooperation and peaceful resistance spread. Railways in southern Egypt were cut and a police station attack left five dead and four wounded.
Two unidentified men were found shot to death on a lonely University City lane near St. Louis. One man, possibly Everett E. Summers of Toledo, is believed to be about 30. the other about 22. Police think they were dead for some time and dumped from an automobile, one body wrapped in canvas, found a few feet apart.
A lost newborn boy was found on the Colman dock at about 11 p.m. Christmas night. Patrolman Manning took the infant to the city hospital where he died at 5 45 a m. The parents were not found and prosecutors consider manslaughter a possibility if exposure caused death. The coroner will issue a verdict soon.
Two boys John and Shelton Whitestone found a frozen male body in a small pond by 1516 Fourth Ave. N.W. near the Olympic Pipe and Machine Works. Coroner W. H. Carson investigates identity and cause of death. father works at the plant. The man likely drowned as his head protruded from the ice though the pond is shallow.
Three bandits robbed Henry Holtz jewelry store in St Louis taking diamonds valued at 5000 and 700 in cash. One man bound Holtz while the other two plundered the shop and fled.
Harold is ambushed as Bill and Virginia lure him into a trap with speed and brutal force. He collapses under their merciless grip and fears what justice or vengeance they will impose. The scene promises further danger as the serial continues in The Star.
Kathryn Marie, the practice baby of the domestic science department at Nebraska State University, receives weekly care from a different student manager. University officials say the program blends scientific training with affection to improve infant outcomes.

Phil Reinbold chaired the Debs reception committees and invited mining officials from distant districts. Final plans for welcoming Eugene V. In Fred I. Stimson's will the Hollywood farm estate is valued at 470000 with equal heirs among his three children Achsah Stimson Moore Harold C. Stimson and Frederick M. Stimson. Nellie C. Stimson receives nothing from the will but owns 150 shares in her own right. The Union National Bank is named as executor.
