At a bar on West 625 Weller Street a drunken fight left Frank Aho 42 a logger of 112 Broadway with a stab wound to the abdomen. He died or was dying in Nippon hospital while John Hendrickson 44 was held as the alleged assailant. Police rushed to the scene at 10 30 p m and witnesses said the two men fought after heavy drinking. If Aho survives charges of assault may be filed against Hendrickson.
The bodies of Col. Francis Marshall and Lieut. Charles Webber were found at Indian Springs on the Papago Indian reservation. Both were in a plane that was burned to ash. the site showed a charred wreckage.
Former deputy sheriff Grant Sonaywall held without bail after arrest on Wednesday night. Police say he accepted protection money from Yourhouse hotel keeper A Okai and carried a five dollar bill hidden in his shoe.
In San Francisco Martha Blattner a University of California student from Selma California completed 24 hours in jail for speeding and chose a $16 fine over serving the sentence. She said paying the fine would allow her to keep Christmas. In Salem Oregon the university drive for a meat fund of 1,250,000 was announced as successful last night.
In San Francisco Dee Bay traffic faced delay as the Southern Pacific steamer Garden City was hampered on the Oakland estuary at 7 30. Fifteen minutes later she was ed without damage by a tug.
