German general Ludendorff’s ill fated Picardy drive
The text outlines Ludendorff choosing Picardy as a spring offensive to strike before Allied reinforcements could arrive. The plan aimed to outflank the British in Flanders, but faulty artillery, exhausted units, and a failing advance left him with a stretched front and a widening Amiens pocket. Poor troop availability hindered operations in Flanders.
