The steamer President of the Pacific Coast Steamship Co left Pier at 10 this morning on Hoodoo day. The German steamer Nauplia, arriving from Hamburg via Bristow, ran aground near Point Wilson last night due to a searchlight but sustained no damage and reached port at 10:15.
The jury in the Hazel Moore case reported no agreement after 17 hours of deliberation. Judge Howard discharged the jury. Mrs. Moore faces a new trial on charges under the Mann white slave act as the panel was eight to four for conviction.

A man named Mose Lynch fell and knocked a rail out of place in Pendleton Oregon causing traffic delays while he was carried away. The rail was later fastened back into position and traffic resumed.
Four condemned men Faulder Garrison Morgan and Roberts were executed two by two at the Oregon state penitentiary in Salem. Gov West condemned hanging as barbaric while defending popular will and praising the orderly process witnessed by 100 guests.
In Bellingham Washington on December 13 Jacob Furth the Seattle banker is ill with heart disease affidavit states. The bank conspiracy trial against Furth Ankeny Andrews and Kelleher is continued to January 23 as new Skagit county prosecutor Beadle takes over after Brawley’s term ends.
