A early morning blaze at Robert T. Whaley's village home on the lake side left nine adults and three children with burns to the face hands and feet and several with slight facial burns. The inferno started about two o'clock in a basement under a new structure, forcing the family to escape.

A quarter million dollar suit was begun by J. D. Meenach and wife against F. M. Jordan and wife over ownership of a gold mine in the Valdez mining district. The complaint says the parties were longtime friends and that Jordan induced Meenach to sell 24,173 Elimas Mining Co. shares, valued at 305,626, for only 48,272, while Jordan was manager and allegedly claimed the mine was exhausted.
A warrant was issued for BE C. Walker a Spokane theatre manager charged with staging an indecent dance. Mayor Hindley said Walker admitted employing Carma Lita to dance privately at an American Mining congress meeting. The dancer wore an Eve style costume before the fig leaf.

Cross examination of Frank M. Ryan president of the International Association of Bridge and Structural Iron Workers resumed in federal court. Miller questioned Ryan about the Somerset Pennsylvania arrest of George O'Donnell tied to dynamitings. Ryan admitted paying two thousand dollars to secure O'Donnell's release.

T Saito and Hana Saito were married at 2 o clock today in the presence of the federal grand jury. The Japanese girl is held pending Mann Act investigation. Saito was a witness. J W Augustine gave the bride away with J J Sullivan as best man.
