Louis Potter a leading United States sculptor died this morning at 601 6th Ave He had been touring the West and fell ill two days ago Potter known for Alaskan and American Indian sculptures exhibited in the Paris Salon in 1899 and the 1900 Paris exposition He was born in New York and was 39 years old.
In Logansport Indiana on August 29 a house fire claimed the life of a 15 month old child. Mrs Bowyer, alerted by smoke, crawled through flames to pull her husband Wm Bowyer from the burning home and then dragged out two other children. The roof collapsed before she could reach the baby.
The Seattle Ren ton and Southern Co. receivership dispute moves from state court to ex judge Hanford's federal court, costing the Peabody Houghtelling Co. about 96000 dollars. Judge Cushman assigns litigation costs and receivers fees to the Peabody firm, with monthly fees of 750 dollars per receiver and 1000 dollars for Kerr and McCord.
