North Yakima August preparations reveal a larger fair budget and wide participation. The agricultural pavilion will exceed prior records with county exhibits planned for beet products and fruit growers to meet during the event.

Federal officials in custody a man claiming to be Thomas Bootwood but believed to be Theophilus R. Freeman. Freeman is sought in Bates County Missouri for the 1889 murder of James Westbrook and the scheduled hanging. Sheriff Mudd identifies him and says he will obtain requisition papers to return him to Missouri. Freeman reportedly broke jail in Bates County two days before his execution date.

At the Geo H Fortson Relief corps weekly gathering yesterday afternoon new officers were chosen led by President and captain Mrs D C Stan. First lieutenant Mrs Fairbanks second lieutenant Mrs Pennington treasurer Mrs Robinson and secretary Mrs Cotterill. A committee was named to meet the mayor and others to organize preparations for Washington volunteers arrival.
