Unique Tomato Bobs Up From Keyport Grower
Four freak tomatoes arrived Friday morning for W Biglow a commission merchant on Western Avenue from a Keyport grower on Vashon Island. Each tomato had three horns from one and a half to over three inches long and weighed about 12 ounces. They resemble a pear shaped Spanish tomato with seven horns at the top and are said to be sound and flavorful. Seed buying and crossbreeding plans are under discussion to produce this variety in the United States. The grower says they align with the ideal tomato printed on can labels.
