Albert McDonald 23 says he was knocked out by three assailants who then stole his car near Eighth Ave and Stewart St. Patrolman H W Howard found him on a vacant lot early Monday. Farnsworth 34 and two sailors were later arrested in the car and released. both McDonald and Farnsworth are held for investigation. Chicago music industry notes follow.
Harry Zoslain, 16, of 5616 Kirkwood Ave, was found on G D Davies porch at 4218 Meridian Ave after claiming two masked men bound gagged and tied him and left him in an alley on Sunday night. He escaped and reached help. no robbery occurred. Police puzzled by the case.
A Seattle press report warns of Alaska oil riches being grabbed by large companies under changes to leasing laws. It recalls Lane act limits, Curry bill battles, and a 1920 opening for filings, noting Cold Bay and Alaska Peninsula investment by big outfits while Seattle locals fear lost prospects.
Police link a Sunday incident on Occidental Ave to a suspected homicide. A woman jumped from a car and fought, a second man struck the assailant with a blackjack. The man collapsed and was dragged into the auto. witnesses say they planned to take him to a hospital. No police report yet. Detectives have no clues.
A near gunfight broke out Sunday night when police from opposing sides, revolvers cocked, confronted each other at Bright's dancing academy. Merchant Patrolman Edgar Garr stepped outside. the proprietor mistook him for a burglar and fled, leaving cash on the table as Barr shouted burglar in alarm.

Mrs FE Castel of 764 Bellevue Ave North remained in Providence Hospital with a possible fractured skull after being struck by Charles Olen of 617 Mission East Spokane near 14th Ave and East Pike Street. Olen, driving about 20 mph, was arrested on the scene for reckless driving. Witness Mrs L M Herold of 1612 14th Ave was also struck. Patrolman M C Strafford of the traffic division made the arrest.
Sam E. Leitch, chief deputy clerk of the district court, was back at work Monday after a two week vacation, greeting colleagues with his familiar cheerful smile.

Seattle officials review a 1907 ordinance restricting swimming attire from waist to knee. Corporation Counsel Walter F. Meier reports no blue laws affecting local mermaids, prompting broader access to the waters in regulation compliant swimwear.
J L Gaines of 1328 Sixth Ave reports a fellow roomer grabbed his purse while he went to the bathroom. The purse contained $15. The incident occurred Monday and the thief fled with the money.
In Camp McLellan near Anniston, two companies of the Fourth Alabama Infantry and two machine gun companies were ordered to Centerville Bibb County to quell a riot reported to have continued overnight. No details were available at the camp, but the haste signaled seriousness.
Madalynne Obenchain and Arthur Burch were formally indicted for the murder of Johnny Belton Kennedy.
