Twenty five strikers were arrested yesterday on riot charges and bound at 3000 dollars each, jailed at Wilkes Barre. The protesters claim deputies fired without provocation and blame the officers for the collision.
Reports from Brittany describe yesterday’s enforcement of the congregation decrees provoking the fiercest disturbances yet. Angry peasants ripped gendarmes from saddles and trampled them, injuring several officers as two cavalry charges scattered the mob at Pioumaguer. A commissioner and a commander were beaten.
Paris dispatch reports the bodies of Charles L. Farr and his wife are being embalmed while awaiting instructions from America regarding interment. The note indicates the couple died recently and their remains are held for final arrangements.

Lindblom, one of Nome’s discoverers, returns aboard the Indiana, captained by B. W. Roberts, bringing $122,000 in gold and 23 sacks of malt for the Northern Commercial Company. The voyage left Nome August 6 as Elk No. 1, Sadie, and Corwin were in harbor.
