London April 26 Maj Gen Radcliffe reported German forces advanced 2000 yards on a 1200 yard front in the Kemmel sector seizing key ground at Kemmel hill. Officials say Ypres might be held though positions would be inconvenient with enemy near Mont Kemmel.
The second of five paintings from Ferdinand Gueldry depicts a scene of destruction. Official reports authenticated by French authorities and vouched for by President Poincare and General Joffre accompany the exhibit. The works are on display at 677 Fifth Ave New York, loaned by Col. In Copenhagen April 26 German reports say a British airman bombed Zeebrugge mole during the Kaiser’s inspection of the raid’s results. The Kaiser stayed on the mole and completed his inspection.
Washington reports from France state American aviators have downed 439 enemy planes since the U S entered the war up to March 8. The tally comes from unofficial cables received today detailing air combat successes by U S squadrons in France.
Seattle electric firm and city council near adopting Mayor Hanson's plan to stop free carbon lamp giveaways. President Leonard of the Electric Company agreed with Hanson to halt the program if the city proceeds, with at least five council members expressing no objection.
