A report to the Pacific Steamship Company states the steamship Admiral Fear Ragut ran aground near Petersburg Alaska on Thursday afternoon.
Winston Churchill announced in the House of Commons that British material losses include 1,000 cannon and between 4,000 and 5,000 machine guns. He said total munitions manufacture over two to three weeks. He noted we now have more serviceable guns than at the battle's start and air service aircraft doubled from losses.

Seattle prepares a Liberty Day event to honor 447 select service men with a citywide parade. A Seattle girl in armor representing Joan of Arc leads, escorted by French sailors and heralds. Paul Chevilly, the French vice consul, attends, and the procession will join an army of Liberty Loan buyers led by Mayor Hanson and city officials.
Friday events include ten minute speakers on Union Street postoffice steps at 9 00 am. At 4 00 pm, service men gather at Oak theatre First Avenue and Madison Street for a farewell entertainment. The first train departs at 4 45 pm from station to Camp Lewis and the second train departs King Street station to Camp Lewis.
Mayor Hanson asks city council to end carbon lamp giveaways to cut electric energy use by about 36000 per year. Officials estimate old carbon lamps consume twice the energy of nitrogen lamps, with residents needing to buy new globes if the plan passes.
