Ten Miners Die In Delaware & Hudson Shaft Collapse
Wilkes Barre Pa April 26 Ten miners were killed when a hoisting rope broke in the Coningham shaft of the Delaware and Hudson Coal company about 6 30 this morning The cage sank nearly 1000 feet to the bottom of the shaft The engineer said the machinery worked perfectly prior to the break A rescue party recovered mangled bodies seven of whom were identified by noon William Harvey Frank Rogel August Zay arcey John Kuritcki Harry Mee Graw Anthony Zilvic and Lorens Warnick were named among the dead.
