Man Killed by Live Wire Outside Oyster House

William Ward a shoemaker living at the Leland lodge on First Avenue South was killed by an electric shock from a live telephone wire in front of Wright's Oyster House at 207 Yesterday Way. The arc burned wire caused by Sunset Telephone and Co. equipment touched a street arc light, killing Ward instantly. Police and bystanders suffered shocks while trying to help, and several phones in the area were damaged. Coroner’s inquest set for tomorrow at 10 AM to determine responsibility.
